What does this mean to you?

Who are we and what do we do? I sat down to write our philosophy but quickly decided that what I might think may not match up to what everyone else thinks. I can't go off on one of my 'haven't been out of the house' tangents and later be told that I don't know a thing. So, tell me what we stand for. Tell me where the line is. We all need to be on the same page and I do not want this being one of those silly conversations that just get everyone angry at each other. If you like, ward it to Arthur and I, but otherwise share it with the group.

Also, there is the small matter of Albus being incapacitated. Has anyone managed to see him and discover how? Furthermore, if he is not able to speak with new recruits to invite them into the Order, we may have to give ourselves a new name. I would hate to do so, but if we cannot recruit or communicate effectively, it will become a necessity and pre-empting it is the best course of action.

Happy belated birthday. I realised this was the first in many years I had the chance to wish you well, but I forgot it.

When I was at Hogwarts, we had at least forty students in my year. I shared my dorm with five other girls and we spent our nights giggling together well past curfew. It wasn't abnormal to have so many students in a dorm. We were such an odd mismatch of purebloods, half-bloods, and Muggleborns that I can't help but ask just how many students are there per dormitory these days? Without the students who have 'dubious heritage', isn't it a little lonely in that great big castle?

What could be so wrong about peacefully co-existing? What threat do Muggleborns and half-bloods pose to any of you? All I've ever wanted is to be allowed to practice the magic I was born with, and protect the rights of others like me. How is slaughter or ostracism a response to someone simply being born into a different situation? It's as absurd as hating someone for the colour of their eyes, skin, or hair. Why ignore the merit of someone's character just because of their blood?

It's been a while, hasn't it? I hope everyone is enjoying their holiday as much as they can in the morose kind of setting that Britain has been for the past decade or more. Tell me, when purebloods celebrate Christmas and the traditions of their families do they acknowledge what extremes they go to for the sake of purity?

It seems to me that blood supremacy is simply a matter of pointing out entire lines of people who just wanted to be complacent and pretend their name should award them everything. Those who couldn't be bothered or didn't have enough character to stand out as individuals. But then, here I am with my pureblood husband and half-blood son, just happy that our family has reached another December in-tact.

Has anyone decided on their New Year's resolutions yet?

I got married at nineteen, but it was to someone I completely and desperately loved. I fail to see how marrying off teenagers is going to help Voldemort's cause, but it further illustrates his lack of understanding about human emotions. Humans love. Humans need that connection with another, the thing that gives you the strength to face the world and all its challenges.

Your Supreme Lord will never understand that. While you worship him, you give away your heart and soul. You give it to a man who doesn't have any heart or soul of own and he has no idea what to do with such things, apart from break them. Don't stand for it anymore. Don't allow him to rob you of your right to love.

Well, first of all I'd like to welcome Ted Tonks to the Order. I'm sure lots of you remember him, he's a great man and his sense is a quite a welcome addition.

Second of all, consider this a brainstorming session. We need to come up with ideas and a plan. For a good plan, we need to have information. I want to you to tell me things about your strengths and weaknesses, and what you're prepared to do. Finally, what are your expectations from the Order?

I've been elected a citizen leader of the Order. We want direction and Albus isn't around very much, so the decision was made to have a few of us step up. I half feel like I'm supposed to tell the other about you, but I don't think it'd accomplish anything. I want you to be safe, which seems absolutely ridiculous given the situation you're in.

When you think of how you'd like the world to be, what do you imagine? I've been away from it for so long that I'm constantly surprised by what people think.

If anyone has any questions about the pictures posted around recently, feel free to ask. I haven't properly been able to fawn over the photos with others, so I'm happy to do so now.

With regard to the 'Lily Evans is a magic-stealing monster' story, I'm not sure whether I should be amused or dismayed. On one hand, an entire generation of witches and wizards has grown up thinking I'm the magical equivalent of the bogeyman, and on the other hand, the story is ridiculous and inaccurate to a point where I can't imagine people actually believing it.

Anyone who attended Hogwarts when I did, as a peer in my year group or another, must surely remember how much I hated James Potter and Sirius Black until around fifth year. It took another year or so after that before I'd even consider calling them friends. Similarly, people of the same age should be able to tell you which of us was the better influence on the others. The person who penned the story was quite wrong about the relationship, but I don't think portrayal of the truth was really their greatest concern.

As for the claim that I've stolen magic, I'd like facts if you please. Citations. Unbiased peer-reviewed articles with evaluative research. After 17 years, I should hope that someone would be able to provide evidence other than heresy. Unless, of course, everything in that story is completely false. Which Squibs am I responsible for?

Now I read it and I am the woman. I won't demean anyone by calling them children. I won't pretend that you young people out there don't have cause to fight. I know that you feel just as passionate about your beliefs and the future, but I don't want anyone to be so emboldened that they think war is glorious. It's not. It's dirty and disgusting and there's no dignity or splendour. But it's necessary.

I wish someone had pulled me aside and painted the whole picture before I joined the cause, but they didn't. I was clever, headstrong, egotistical, and had nothing left to lose. I would have joined anyway, but I would have done so with a full understanding and I wouldn't feel so betrayed by the world now that I'm grown.

Help us, but know that it will claim your soul, your youth, your trust, your optimism. We need you, but I won't stand for anyone to enter into this without all the information. When you do act, if you do act, do so with all thoughtfulness and consideration. To die simply because of thoughtlessness is almost as bad as dying without meaning.

Every time I sit down to write in this thing, I can never think of the right thing to say. I had something important but now it's slipped out of my mind. So I guess I'll just ask a question and hope that some people are gracious enough to answer.

What are the current seventh years at Hogwarts like? Banished folk from 17 to 18, too. What would Harry's friends be like, if he had any?

When did we get so old?

I know we recently had that discussion in Arthur's journal, but there's something I'd like to ask. All of you are experiencing the world and are right there inside of it, and I really want to know.

Would it really be accurate for me to assume that the young ones have very little idea of what the Order stands for? One of the students was writing to me and seemed surprised at my saying the Order is about tolerance and thoughtfulness. Has that changed? Are we just about hate now?
